Classification tour update

Holstein Australia has recommenced classification visits throughout Gippsland, North West and North Central Victoria, Riverina NSW and South Australia. This is the first stage of a phased reintroduction of the class tour, with other regions and states to be included as state and territory travel restrictions are eased.

National Awards Dinner postponed, AGM goes online

One of the highlights of the Holstein Australia year, the National Awards Dinner, scheduled to take place in Western Australia in the first week of September, has been postponed in the light of uncertainty around interstate travel for the foreseeable future. The AGM will take place online, broadcast from Dairy House, on Thursday 3 September.

The way breeders are interpreting and using genomic data to focus on improving specific traits within their herds is helping to lift the genetic gain of the Holstein breed in Australia.

Strong results for Vala Holsteins & Best of the West sales
Two sales over the last week have underlined strength and value of Holstein genetics and registered animals as well as the way the industry is adapting to a COVID-19 world. Best of the West topped out at $17,000, Vala Holsteins twice at $8,000.
