Holstein Australia's road map

Holstein Australia has today launched its new five year strategic business plan.

Developed with input from members, our Strategic Directions and Breed Development & Conformation committees, staff and Board, CEO Rohan Butler says: "The plan is a road map for the future direction of the Association. Where are we now, what are our aspirations, where do our members want us to be? It sets out clearly our current and future path."

Available online, the plan identifies seven key areas of focus; breed development, community, export of Australian Holstein genetics, finance, governance, member services and youth and future leaders.

Join our virtual AGM

This Thursday see’s Holstein Australia hold its first virtual AGM, streamed live to members and guests nationwide at 12pm (ADST) from Dairy House in Melbourne.

Membership resolution explained
At Thursday’s Annual General Meeting members are being asked to vote on a resolution relating to the definition of a member. Chief Operations Officer, David Jupp, explains why the this is necessary and what the proposed change to the Constitution will mean for members.

Known for her work on genomics and Australian Breeding Values, Agriculture Victoria's Principal Research Scientist, Jennie Pryce, has been named Australia’s top animal husbandry researcher.

Murribrook Holsteins milking herd dispersal
Today sees the milking herd dispersal of Master Breeder,  Murribrook Holsteins in NSW. Selling will be cows with records to 13,962 litres, 480 kgs protein, 636 kgs fat with dams over 18,000 litres, 674 kgs protein, 878 kgs fat. Over the years Murribrook has won 44 Champions at Sydney Royal and been 15 times premier breeder, 16 times premier exhibitor.
